Late one evening on a lonely alley, a fragile boy was circled by hefty bullies for exposing their wicked plot to their class teacher. Now he is in between the beating of his life and a wall, left with either of these two weapons for defence, complain about how unfair the situation is, how doing good is paying him evil in return and on and on, or simply cry out for help. The first is as good as nothing, which will end up in an obvious defeat, bruise, black eye, broken tooth etc, and for the other option, he might just be lucky someone will be within an audible range, and since the first option is as good as doing nothing, then what does he have to lose by just screaming out his lungs; screaming HELP! HELP!! HELP!!!

Life pushes us to the wall on a daily basis, with little or nothing we can do about it. Just like the boy, I spoke about, but we have found it easier to just complain, and worry, recounting how unfair life is and blah blah blah, most have even gotten used to it saying that is why adaptability was added to the characteristics of man in secondary school’s biology syllabus, Lol. I don’t seize to wonder why it is obvious you have been backed down to the wall where you can’t help yourself anymore. If you will give up at all, give it up onto a better option; scream for help, someone might just be around. It is far easier to call for help than living through the pain of torture of whatever it is you are faced with.

The good news here is that the probability that someone will be there to hear your cry is 1; 100%, the person with the title of “an ever-present help in trouble”

Psalm 46:1. He said whenever you call, He will answer you and He will be with you in trouble, He will rescue you.

Hear what God told Joshua, Moses successor right after the death of Moses, more or less His inaugural charge,

“Be strong and courageous, Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you, He will not leave you or forsake you. (Joshua 1:5)

Quit worrying, it won’t make any difference but give it up into the hand of Him who assured you that He will never leave you, especially to rescue you when trouble comes. So the next time a situation pins you against the wall with no other option but to give up or give in, just remember that someone is waiting just next to you, ready to help you carry all those weights, His name is Jesus. You can always cast your cares and burdens on Him.

I cast all my cares upon you
I lay up all my burdens down at your feet
And anytime I don’t know what to do
I will cast all my cares upon you

This is the chorus to a song I learned in my early teenage years that up till date is still helping me through the stormy times. When you don’t know what to do, cast your cares on Jesus for He cares.
