MY PERSONAL FIRST AID KIT 2: GOD IS GOOD

First-Aid-BoxWe are in our present state as a result of what we have been taught, either wrongly or otherwise, what we know and don’t know, accepted true, the knowledge we have allowed our world impress on us. It is just funny how much of wrong things we have gotten use to just because we can’t see beyond our noses, we give up searching and just swallow whatever life offers us.
I got a little bit angry while watching the movie “Flight” starring Denzel Washington among others. In the movie (for those that have not seen it), there was a plane crash that through the captain’s (Denzel Washington) intelligence or miracle as referred to by some others greatly reduced the fatality of the crash to survival of  96 of 102 people on board. What got me angry was a conversation between the captain and the co-pilot which the crash left in coma for days and rendered his two legs practically useless. The co-pilot said God allowed that ordeal to come on him and he thank God for it, in another scene, Denzel Washington met with a cancer patient that said God gave him the cancer, he asked Him to take it away and God refused, so it must be His will.

Complacency is the excuse of fools, isn’t it funny how we agree to lies just because we don’t know better.

Why all this? There has been too many miss representation of the one and only true God. The bible says “God is love”, not God has love. He is not wicked that will give cancer or make you lame to teach you a lesson.
As a father, do you cut your child’s limbs to teach him a lesson; NO, you being wicked as you are, how much more the God called LOVE.
Take note of the tone of these verses.

James 1:16-17 (NIV) Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

I know this is not consistent with what we have been taught. We have quoted Job transferring the cause of his ugly ordeal on God “…The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away… Job 1:21”. Whereas he brought it on himself by his fear “Job 3:25 For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.”
Instead of consoling ourselves with …He gives and takes away… why not quote John in 3 John 2 “3 John 1:2 (KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” That does not sound like “God gives good and bad”
It is never God’s will for you to be sick, broke, suffer, mentally dull… Romans 8:32 (AMP) He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things? It is right there in the bible, graciously, abundantly, freely give, not some things and deprive you of some, not give you car crash and take your limbs, not make you barren and despised of all.
The fact in this is if you don’t start seeing it otherwise and thinking it otherwise, your experiences won’t change. As you think in your heart so you attract and thus experience.
Stop blaming God for your ordeal or even the devil, change your mindset and see everything change around you.
