Either being indoor or outdoor, hearing the blast of the trumpet gets my heart beating fast, being alone is actually worse, especially if the blast is abnormally prolonged. If I am on the street or in the midst of people, after like 2 seconds, I feel my skin to check if I am still human and alive, then I look out for the seemingly God fearing people around, if I find any, I get consoled, if there is none, OMG! trouble. But if I am alone…hahaha, I get scared to death. You might have guessed why. The bible records that the calling of the saints of God into the clouds to meet Jesus will be with the blast of the trumpet, so explains my plight. But why discussing my intention to talk about this topic with a friend, she shared a similar fear with me, but while hers is more of the noise from the jet engine of the airplane, mine from the horn of truck vehicle mostly. Whatever phobia or other term you want to call my fear of the trumpet, I think it has a little bit of positively in it, it shows that I am conscious or expectant of the second coming of Jesus. Let me justify this with the words of Jesus in Mark 13:33-37 and Luke 12:12 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at a time when you don’t expect him! I don’t know how ready you are, but Jesus made it plain enough that his coming will be in an unthinkable hour; Thus three advices; TAKE HEED, WATCH AND PRAY. I am sure a whole lot of people will not even perceive anything happened if His appearance would have been unannounced, but No! The bible said He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him (Rev 1:7), For the Lord himself shall descend from the heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. In the words of Jesus himself in Luke 17:26-35 (MSG) 26-27 “The time of the Son of Man will be just like the time of Noah— everyone carrying on as usual, having a good time right up to the day Noah boarded the ship. They suspected nothing until the flood hit and swept everything away. 28-30 “It was the same in the time of Lot—the people carrying on, having a good time, business as usual right up to the day Lot walked out of Sodom and a firestorm swept down and burned everything to a crisp. That’s how it will be—sudden, total—when the Son of Man is revealed. 31-33 “When the Day arrives and you’re out working in the yard, don’t run into the house to get anything. And if you’re out in the field, don’t go back and get your coat. Remember what happened to Lot’s wife! If you grasp and cling to life on your terms, you’ll lose it, but if you let that life go, you’ll get life on God’s terms. 34-35 “On that Day, two men will be in the same boat fishing—one taken, the other left. Two women will be working in the same kitchen—one taken, the other left.”
This post is not to encourage any fear but to create a reminder that that day will still come when the sound of the trumpet will separate the wheat from the chaffs, when the truth will be obvious to the whole world, just that it will be too late, like the people in the days of Noah or Sodom. I hope you will be ready.
