What The Church Probably Didnt Tell You About Jesus

I’d like to introduce you to the Jesus you probably never knew. I am quite aware that so many pictures of Jesus have been painted. Many of which are very far from being true. Some are just men’s perspective of what the “perfect and sinless” son of God should be.

If the image of Jesus you have or learnt is one that holds a big cane waiting for you to miss your step and spank you, judge and condemn you, give you over to the devil to deal with you. Or He is too Holy that He cannot come close to you or allow you close to Him, you have a very wrong image of Jesus.

John 8:3-11 (AMP) 3when the scribes and pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery.Teacher, they said, this woman has been caught in the very act of adultery. But what do you say [to do with her—what is your sentence]? He raised himself up and said, let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her… when Jesus raised himself up, he said to her, woman, where are your accusers? Has no man condemned you? She answered, no one, lord! And Jesus said, I do not condemn you either. Go on your way and from now on sin no more.

The above story may defy your theology, but it’s right there in the bible. This woman was caught in the very act of adultery. The Jesus you have been taught/known would have given her the history of her life and tell her of how such a disgrace and failure she is but NO, He said “I do not condemn you” New century version says “I also don’t judge you guilty”. WHAT!!!

In another place, Jesus spent time talking with and even asked for water from a woman who has had five (5) husbands and presently making out with another man who isn’t her husband. I am pretty sure she must have been condemned to hell by our religion of today.

Picture this! Mark 2:14-16 (AMP) 14 And as He was passing by, He saw Levi (Matthew) sitting at the tax office, and He said to him, Follow Me! [Be joined to Me as a disciple, side with My party!] And he arose and joined Him as His disciple. 15 And as Jesus, together with His disciples, sat at table in his [Levi’s] house, many tax collectors and persons [definitely stained] with sin were dining with Him. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that He was eating with [those definitely known to be especially wicked] sinners and tax collectors, said to His disciples, Why does He eat and drink with tax collectors and [notorious] sinners?

Wow! In-case you find yourself in the class of the “not-so-perfect”, Congratulations, Jesus is on His way to your house. It was for you He came, to shower His “unconditional love” on you. He came to help you, He is fully aware of your flaws, secrets, weaknesses and He is bidding you to come just as you are.

Listen to what He has to say to you, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. 29 Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. 30 Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

How? Just come, like the adulterous woman, call Him “Lord”. Ask Him to help you. Invite Him into your house (heart) and leave the cleaning up to Him.

Thank you for dropping by. I believe it was worth your time, and I hope you’ll leave a comment also 😉 .
