Faith and Focus: The Journey to Significance 10

Young girl (10-12) playing piano, Grand Junction, Colorado, USAHello, its great having you again!
What does “F” stand for in SIGNIFICANCE?
Today on the Journey to Significance we will be looking at Faith and Focus as it relates to significance.
I will like to start by defining faith from the best point of view which is the Biblical point of view. According to Hebrews 11:1, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith relates to trust, belief, confidence and conviction you express for something.
When we talk about faith, we are talking of the faith that relies in God for significance. We can recall that G stands for God in SIGNIFICANCE. And faith has everything to do with God. It is our faith in God that brings about our significance.
What is Focus?
Focus is the center of interest or activity. It is super directing your attention on a thing you want to achieve so dearly. Focus requires you to concentrate yourself on a particular subject.
Leo Babauta in his book “FOCUS” defined focus as finding simplicity in this age of distraction. Distractions from competitors, oppositions, internal feelings, fear and failure.
The bible sees an unfocused person as “double minded” it says that a double minded person is unstable in his ways.
Faith and focus go a long way in determining the kind of life we live here on earth. We have to have faith in what we should focus on. In our journey to significance, our focus is to be significant and we can only make progress on this journey by activating our faith.
On this journey, you need to have a good conscience to operate faith. Faith becomes impotent when your conscience is not right. When you tell lies, live in dishonesty, corruption and lack integrity, you operate in a minimal level of faith. The level of your faith is determined by your conscience.
The truth is that, there will be a lot of distractions, obstacles, failures, setbacks, critics, etc. but what will keep you going is faith that you will overcome and focus on where you are headed.
Don’t give up no matter how it seems, press on towards living the purpose for which you are created for. Keep your eyes on the prize. Significance is a reality.
Focus is the important determination in being significant. Significance, is not just a goal we seek to achieve, it’s a present lifestyle. I’ve come to discover that faith and focus is a routine that occurs almost every time. With who you’ve grown up to be, you can focus on living an impactful life daily.
Know what you want, and go for it. Zig Ziglar in his quote says “Lack of Direction, not lack of time is the problem. We all have 24 hour days.” how well do you maximize yours?
Instead of worrying so much about where you are, have faith and focus on where you are aspiring to go and who you are aspiring to be. Wake up each day and surround yourself, body, soul and mind with what nourishes you.
You are blessed, no matter what your condition is. Be grateful for who you are and strive towards excellence.
In the words of Mark Twain, “You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.
Always remember, your focus determines your reality.
Faith and focus makes significance a reality.
Have a great week.
