IGNITE WITH SUCCESSBAYO #7: TIME – IT IS MINE SO I WILL CONTROL IT

new_year_2015_wishes-wallpaper-1600x900Hello friends.
I welcome you to another session of IGNITE SERIES. Fortunately, I got a lot of feedback from last week’s topic, “FINANCIAL ACCELERATION”. In case you missed it, you just have to read it.
One of the major determinants of how successful an individual will be, is how the person manage his/her time. In essence, this week’s series is about Time management and I will caption it IT IS MINE SO I WILL CONTROL IT”

Time = Life; therefore, waste your time and waste your life, or master your time and master your life. – Alan Lakein

All successful people are those who have been able to gain control of their time. We need to channel our time resource to the best challenge. It’s not how much we do that matter; it’s how much we get done. We should learn to choose to watch our time, not out watch, #deep
Manage your vulnerable times (first thing in the morning and last thing at night) effectively and efficiently. The greater control you exercise over your time, the greater freedom you will experience in your life. We all have the same 24 hours each day, so why are some people more efficient than the other? The difference is determined by what they do with the amount of time at their disposal. John Mason once said The future arrives an hour at a time. Gain control of your time, and you will gain control of your life. No wonder Charles Darwin said “a man who dares to waste one hour of life has not discovered the value of life
Apply the 80/20 principle (Pareto) on your time. It simply says 20% of the areas you focus on will give you the 80% of your main results. Hence avoid doing many unnecessary things. Focus on the critical areas and achieve excellence. You can also scale your plans into Urgency and Importance; some things are important but not urgent while some are important and urgent
The most vital Time survival skill is PLANNING. Let me share with you some time management strategies;

  • Planning for each day
    • the use of daily to-do-list
  • Tasks prioritizing
    • the use of ABC analysis
    • most important tasks
    • next most important tasks
    • least important tasks
  • Avoiding nonessential tasks.
    • unprofitable discussions
    • gossip
  • Tasks delegating.
    • tasks others can do for us free
    • tasks others can do with payment
  • Breaking large time-consuming to smaller tasks.
  • Time spent evaluation.

-Keep a diary of everything you do for three days to determine how         you’re spending your time.

  • Getting enough rest, sleep, exercise and break.
    • ability to save time

There are also some people that celebrate yesterday’s failure or even success. I want to you to know that yesterday is gone, you need to forge ahead.    If yesterday is gone, why then should its harm hold us down? No and no, we should never allow the past to exercise a grip on us. The greatest leader said in the great book that No procrastination, No backward looks.” Luke 9:62. The more we look backward, the less able we are to see forward, God put our two eyes in front so as to able to focus on what’s coming and not what happened behind us. Well, the beauty of Christianity is that the past makes no difference in what God can do for us today. But the choice is yours whether to allow the past to keep you from living to the fullest in the present and the future.
The man called failure is smartly dressed waiting for those who are living off of yesterday’s successes and failures. Never relax on yesterday’s accomplishment, always seek for the solution to the challenge called WHAT NEXT?  You should learn to profit from the past but to invest in the future.
Those who plan their time have planted their time usage in their mind.

Only those who master their time becomes masters in life.

I am looking forward to seeing you next week. Have a profitably timed week.

From your Coach.
