MY LAST WORDS

one million dollars_laugh
I stumbled on the above picture and I felt awfully sad and sorry for whoever has this as their ambition; statement as their last words. What made it worse was how the lady in the picture laughed so  much thinking her life’s goal is enviable which in my opinion is pitiful. Don’t get me wrong, I am not an advocate of a wretched life, No!!! When I die I will have more than a million dollar saved somewhere for my grandchildren and for charitable course,  but to have that as my last word! That is wretched (deserving or inciting pity, of very poor quality or condition).
The purpose of this post is to get you to think and share as a comment what you would like your last words to be. Below I share some famous last words I searched up on Google.

  1. Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758–1805) – Thank God, I have done my duty.
  2. Pope John Paul II (1920–2005) –  Let me go to the house of the Father.

  3. Roman Emperor – I live!
  4. General William Erskine – Now, why did I do that?, (after he jumped from a window in Lisbon)
  5. Cecil Rhodes (1853–1902) – So little done, so much to do.

  6. Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951) – Tell them I’ve had a wonderful life.
  7. Sir Francis Bacon (1561–1626) – For my name and memory, I leave it to men’s charitable speeches, and to foreign nations, and the next ages.

  8. Michael Faraday – “I shall be with Christ, and that is enough.”
  9. Byron, Lord (1788-1824) – “Goodnight.”
  10. Fox, Charles James (1749-1806) – “I die happy.”
  11. Ethel Barrymore – Is everybody happy? I want everybody to be happy. I know I’m happy.

While I am definitely not saying any of the above is a perfect or pitiful last words. They communicated different significant messages.
Post as a comment what you want/wish your last words are. I’ll go first; Goodbye world, I have lived, behold, I live on (in a better place).

I will be waiting to see yours.
