Delilah – Good Lessons from Bad Girls 2

Thank you for choosing to read from us at Lifegiva, thank you very much. We do appreciate you!

Ready for our second bad girl?

The next bad girl on my list is one that would have been really irresistible for many young guys of this age. She is the girl that you would see and fall in love with, hate her at a point and fall for her again. No wonder she was able to wrap the strongest guy to ever live around her fingers without using any physical weapon. She is good!

I present to you the beautiful, deceptive and goal achieving Delilah!

We probably have a number of ladies who are living as Delilah these days but that isn’t my focal point today. We want to consider the strengths this young lady possessed under the microscope.

Lets go!

  1. She was a GOAL ACHIEVER.

Delilah knew what she was asked to do and this she did even though her foe was one no one would have dared to come up against. Yes, she had incentive, but don’t we all have incentives?

“The Philistine tyrants approached her and said, “Seduce him. Discover what’s behind his great strength and how we can tie him up and humble him. Each man’s company will give you a hundred shekels of silver.” So Delilah said to Samson, “Tell me, dear, the secret of your great strength, and how you can be tied up and humbled.”

How many people today actually carry out the work cut out for them at home or at work? If we all can be like Delilah (positively) in this regard I believe we will be living in a world of possibilities.

  1. She was PERSISTENT.

Even after she had failed three (3) times, she continued.

She said, “How can you say ‘I love you’ when you won’t even trust me? Three times now you’ve toyed with me, like a cat with a mouse, refusing to tell me the secret of your great strength.”

She kept at it day after day, nagging and tormenting him. Finally, he was fed up—he couldn’t take another minute of it. He spilled it.”

She kept her eyes on the goal, forgot the shame and she got the job done.

“For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Persistence no matter the setbacks is indeed a character trait that will do us a lot of good if we cultivate it. When applied to a positive venture, we are sure to reap good results. Don’t be scared of trying again.

I hope Delilah was able to teach you these two things. Is there something else that you have learnt from Delilah that you would want to share. Please do comment. I look forward to hearing from you.
